I lost my engagement ring in the football field

Sunday June 5th

What a perfect day to visit Appleby, my high school, where I've boarded for 4 years. Nic , Yui and I decided to go back and play some aerobi. After playing for a good 30 minutes, we decided to take a hike near the lake and trek back to our car near the health center. Whilst we were admiring the new arena and the nice photos that were put up. I felt the space between my third and fourth finger. NOTHING! I immediately looked at my left hand and saw my bare hand and said to Yui "Look at my hand!" Yui goes "What? Your hand is shaking?" Then I said "No, look at my hand my ring is gone" At that moment, he literally looked like he got the wind knocked out of him. He took a deep breath and sat down with his right hand on his head. (To be honest, I have never seen the man so beaten) Knowing the severity of the situation, to redirect his grief and to avoid him from taking in the situation, I suggested to go look for it immediately as my guess was that it must have came off during aerobi in the football field.

After 1 hour of scanning the field, no luck whatsoever. It was imminent that we needed to rent a metal detector.

Monday, June 6th
9:30am Milton Stephenson's

We should be glad that Milton had a metal detector because apparently, only 2 stores in toronto carried it and Waterloo was the other one. Whilst renting the equipment, the store lady asked us what we were looking for and we told her that we were looking for an engagement ring in a football field. Her face was semi-mortified and said "Oh noooo, good luck guys!" Yui said "We're gonna need it! But I'm sure we're gonna find it!" Store lady "That's the spirit! Stay positive!" By this time, my fear factor of the whole situation has risen to a 8 out of 10.

9:35 am Dollarama near the Stephenson's

We bought some yarn to divide the fields to sections. Basically the technique when archaeologists dig up ancient sites. I also had a genius idea to buy sun tan lotion because we'd be in the sun the whole day.

10:00am Appleby

Yui: It's school day isn't it?

Me: I hear it's review week.

Cue, kids in gym clothes running on to main field. Hence we decided to scan the trek to the lake and to the arena instead. But actually they started to play capture the flag, so a dozen of people came running through the woods. Kid goes " What are you looking for?" Yui" We lost some jewellery" Kid "Awwwww, I hope you find it. Good luck" And of course a couple more people asked the same question (including Don Stewart), from all the sympathetic looks that we've been getting, it's clear that we're pretty much in a very fucked up situation.

What can I say, it just doesn't taste the same when you're moody and depressed.

Apparently football games are going on, so we had to take a break until tmr.

It seems like we covered 1.5 quadrants out of 6. We would definitely need to pick up the pace. However we are bound to be more efficient. A couple of AC girls came up to us "We were just wondering what you were doing" Me "We lost some jewellery so we just using a metal detector to find it" Girls "What are the lines for?" Me "It's to segregate which areas that we covered and so on, just like how archeologist does it." Girls "Oh that's so cool" By this time, I'm feeling pretty damn smart and that our technique is flawless and that we've somehow inspired some young minds to pay more attention in history class

Noon

Lady with a chocolate lab: Hey guys may I ask what you are looking for?

Yui: We lost some jewellery

Lady: I hear that this area was a defense area 80 or 90 years ago, I was just wondering if you guys dug up anything interesting.

Yui: No we actually didn't dig up anything, because we knew what we were looking for is on the surface.

Me (Inside voice): OMG, if we do start digging, are we gonna dig up some bomb and get blown up like the guy in The English Patient.

2:00 Guidance Center

Met up with Ms Bysouth and she complimented on my my "nice tan" and asked how did it go. We still haven't found the ring yet. I told her that it is quite scary and I feel quite uneasy about it and she said "Oh like bad luck, like it's an omen for the marriage?" Me "Errrrr"

3:30 Car and 2-4-1 Pizza (Lunch Time)

This song came on the radio 103.5, and Yui sang along with it.

"Today I don't feel like doing anything....except for finding a ring in a giant football field..."

5:00 Back at the Field

Yui looks at the tanning lotion and goes "Eva, this stuff isn't Sun Block , it's a self tan lotion" Me in denial and disblief "No.. come on it has to be .." Yui reading the label "Only apply 2 times a week, self tanning. Warning this does not contain any sun block" Yes, we have been applying a self tanning lotion thinking that it was a sunblock for the entire two days. We actually manage to magnify our sun burn, not only that the scorching sun was burning us, now we were also enduring a slow chemical burn. Oh why, did I have 8 "re-applies" of lotion?

Knowing that the burning skin torture can be completely avoided, but it was just my stupidity.
Me to Yui: You go through a lot of extra crap when you're with me, don't you?

Yui laughs: Yes. I do...

6:30pm Main Field

Looks like there's more soccer today, I guess we'll wait until they kick us off but fortunately they weren't using the areas we were scanning.

8:30pm Main Field - After 18 hours, 16000 scans, 40 lanes plus discovery of 3 football cleats + a Penny

Me: Hey something's here, come check it out.

Things that I have learnt:

When you want to avoid the "Awwww" sympathetic glare, use the term "Jewellery" instead of "A diamond engagement ring". Works most times I'd say...
Never give up, even when you on 5th out of 6 quadrants of a football field
AC Campus security needs some upkeep. Come on Harp! We were there for two days undisturbed. And Yui bumped into a dawn-like person in Walker House during Study Time and said Hi.
Do NOT attempt ANY sport when wearing you're engagement ring
Look twice at Sunblock labels. "Sunless" may not be a good enough visual cue for sunblock when the following words are associated with it. "Tinted Tanning Sunless"
If a man searches for "Quote"jewellery"End Quote" with you through a football field whilst dying a slow painful death of 3rd degree sun+chemical burn and still haven't strangled you yet - MARRY HIM!

Hong Kong Trip in October

Siu's Babyshower | October 2nd, Saturday

We had so much fun, games, drawing and playtime. It felt like I was back in kindergarten again. I drew the monkey picture (top left) and somebody said it was kinda cute. I hope momma siu (bottom right) liked my presents, I got them some pampers diapers, one packet for new borns and one packet for learning to walk toddler boys. And of course I didn't forget to get some nice sweets for the mom.

Brunch at Australia Milk Company 澳洲牛奶公司 | October 3, Sunday

Boy, these guys have been popular for over 20 years and they never fail to deliver quality meals. And their secret is a limited menu, fast service and consistent quality. This fast food venue imports their own brand of milk and specializes in a custard-like steamed egg desert. That's what my mom ordered and she gobbled it down so fast that I didn't even have time to snap a pic of it. I had the "Breakfast Menu", the service is so incredibly fast, we got seated in 1 minute, ordered the second minute and food was served within 5 minutes. For 25HKD, I had my buttered thick-cut toast, 2 over and easy eggs (cooked to perfection), a hot bowl of macaroni with ham in chicken broth and a iced milk tea. Oh .. I love HK.

Seems light but its packed with carbs.

This is my 3rd Week results..mainly I did a bit better, but I did worse in like 2 areas.

I also did Max Interval Training immediately after which is a pain in the butt. Can't believe I actually gained 1 kg this week..Ridiculous. But I do feel fitter yet my muscles seems fatigue all the time. Anyway will pass judgement on Day 61 I guess. Look! Hamberger is still beating my ass..Shameful

Insanity 2nd Fit Test Results

Did my 2nd Insanity test last week, sorry it took so long to be posted. As of today my weight is the same. But I do notice that my chubbiness is getting tighter and harder, does it mean that its gonna be harder for me to lose it? ARGHHHHHH

Anyway , I did better 2nd time around and definitely my cardio is like much better now. Gonna go to recovery next week. Wonder how thats gonna be

Salmon Tartar and Spaghetti Vongole

Summer is here and wakeboarding season has finally arrive...Oh..yeah..This is season I WILL land a trick. Unfortunately my neck is hurting , which is normal for wakeboarding cos of the falls but my stamina was much better than last year. Must be all the insanity workouts paying off. I wakeboarded in the morning and had to do insanity at night yesterday, god I was soo tired afterwards. Anyway with this summery and giddy feeling after my first run at wakeboarding this season, I made these dishes and both were surprisingly easy to prepare.

Salmon Tartar:

I ordered salmon sashimi for delivery, because I have no idea where to get a nice raw cut of salmon in this town but the sashimi worked perfectly. Basically I just cut the sashimi into tiny cubes then I mixed it into the sauce which combined of a tbsp of dijion mustard mayonnaise, finely chopped red onions (4 tbsp apprx) , capers and a squirt of lemon juice.

For the Spaghetti Vongle, I had no idea it would be so easy.

Step 1.

Mix up 5-6 cloves of finely chopped garlic and 2 red peppers (Those really tiny ones)

Step 2.

Pan Fry half of the mixture

Step 2.
Add in the clams plus 3/4 cup of white wine and lemon juice (1 lemon) , put the lid on cook until done

Step 3.

Add the cooked spaghetti and diced tomatoes (3/4 to 1 tomato) and the 2nd half of the chilli mixture

Done!

Insanity Day 6 - Plyo Cardio Training

Actually its getting easier to the workouts now, but I still need breaks time and again but hopefully I can keep up as we move into Week 3 or something. Now I'm just worried about Month 2 cos it's supposed to be even more insane. A week has passed with my insanity workouts and I've been able to keep up to work out everyday, a very important aspect is that I force myself to work out in the mornings before work cos I know if I work overtime or someone asks me out for dinner I'd be too tired to do the workouts afterwards. The hardest part of insanity for me is to cut down my alcohol intake. And on the night before Day 4, I had 8 drinks in total, I did manage to go home around midnight. It wasn't hard getting up in the morning but when I started to stretch my head was spinning. Thank god Day 4 was just Cardio Recovery and not intense at all. Then I had to go to a party that night and had around 6-7 drinks, I couldn't wake up to my morning work out so had to use my lunch to do the insanity work out. This is like life altering for me, since I'm quite the boozer, not to say i'm cutting out alcohol 100% but limiting some days to under 4 drinks is hard. But I feel like its necessary if I don't wanna feel like crap during the work out. And seriously I get really bummed out if I miss my morning workout. Am I changing into a health nut???? I'm even considering buying some Whey protein to mix into my work out, I need consult my brother...He use to compete in Triathlons and stuff..crazy...

Insanity also brought another behavioral change and its my meals, I try to follow their Elite menu and I noticed I've been cooking a lot more and preparing a lot more meals. I was able to find Tortilla wraps in Shanghai for 7rmb (20 wraps), once again thank you Tao Bao, the source of my shopping and well being. I've been making a lot of breakfast egg wraps lately too..yum!

Everybody's Fine - (I want to) Come Home

Was watching Everybody's Fine last night, late last night. I fell asleep in the middle of the movie because it was quite boring and plus I can't sleep without the TV on. Yes, I like to fall asleep with the TV on and wake up in the middle of the night to turn off the TV. So? Anyway, back to the point, I woke up to this song feeling really sad. It sounded really raw, simple and even amateur yet it was perfect for the movie ending plus it was really touching. Thought it was a country singer but later found out it's a new song by Paul Mc Cartney. Awesome...

The story is about a recently widowed man, De niro, trying to connect to his children. Through his visit to each of their homes, he realized he never really knew his children or listened to them. It really makes you feel that when you age, you just slowly lose touch with what is current and sort of isolate yourself. Makes me feel sad for my own parents and wonder if they are feeling lonely. Sigh.

Wu Guan Tang Vegetarian - Review

This cute little place is rumored to be the best tasting Chinese vegetarian restaurant in Shanghai and frankly I agree. The have cute menus with hand drawn little cartoons beside it and their dishes are equally cutesy. I personally prefer their sister restaurant beside this establishment where they serve vegetarian hot pot for 88RMB. Soooo what is so special that they can charge 88rmb for veggies you say? 1) All you can eat veggies, with dumplings, fake fish balls (vegeterian of course) 2) All you can eat deserts including pudding, sesame sweet soup - sesame freshly grind by hand 3) Pasta machine where you can make your spinach pasta from scratch , FUN and YUM 4) Pick your own tea - with a full cabinet of herbal tea and flowers to chose from. I picked 4 different items for mine and surprising I didn't ruin it 5) COTTON CANDY MACHINE ...tee hee hee

May I say both times I went to Wu Guan Tang was with my awful friend whom is my drinking and pigging out buddy. Our purpose was to punish ourselves from intoxicating our bodies yet the guilt trip wonderfully turned into a guilty pleasure.

Massaging with an ice cream cone in your hand

Yes it’s very odd. Once and again I leap without thinking about consequences. After my yoga session today, I decided to go for a massage. Haven’t been able to eat dinner yet, I was hungry and decided to get an ice cream cone. It’s hard to eat an ice cream cone when some person is massaging your head and shoulders so basically I was holding it for a good 10 minutes. Then she rotated to massage my arms, so then I had to alternate my ice cream bearing arms, you know switch it up so it doesn't fall. Awkward. Sometimes I do admire the professionalism of these girls in the parlor. How does one not even giggle when encountering such ludicrous situations? But perhaps it’s more common than I think it is. Anyone out there has had a massage while eating an ice cream cone or would like to? Or would you tell them to wait until you gobble down your cone?

Sir Elly elly eh …eh eh eh.. - Review

For those who didn’t get connotation above, I was trying to sing the chorus part of “umbrella”. And those who got it, boy you’re random.

What can I say, The Peninsula Hotel. This restaurant is no Gladdy’s , but unlike the very traditional Hong Kong restaurant, Sir Elly’s has an modern twist to it. From their chic interior with the modern chandelier (Gladdy’s had a chandelier too) to their tasty menu, it still says royalty but also hip. I had the Kumamoto Oysters with the cucumber froth, the truffle risotto (truffle is the rare mushrooms that I eat) and to finish off the duck breast. Oysters were quite refreshing and zingy and the truffle was tasty but not spectacular, the duck breast was a bit of a disappointment as it tasted a bit like a roasted duck in a Chinese restaurant. Perhaps it was the fatty skin that made me feel that way. My friend had the tasting menu, great deal 688 with six courses. Foie gras sauce steamed egg was really yummy, the texture of the steamed egg made me feel like I was eating foie gras, the wagyu however was again so so. I have definitely had better wagyu at Stillers.

The cocktails were just ok, maybe because I made the mistake of ordering a martini that had milk and strawberries in it. Just looking at it made me think of Pepto . Oh and it tasted exactly like it to. Gross , then I switched/stole my friends martini which was a tomatatini which was much better.

Recently had a party at the W Hotel, it was very pricey but I have to say it was worth every penny. It was also convenient that they had wooden floors and in the suite they had a black carpet. Perfect for a party hotel when there are easily spills. (We had two broken champagne glasses , which wasn't too bad). Service was top notch from the check in to check out. Took us about 3 minutes for the check out where they didn't even check the room. Let me tell you the room was a complete mess. Honestly a one in a life time experience to throw a party there.

30's - the fear, the animosity and the truth

On March 3rd I awoke to carry on with my standard chores and after a few minutes, I had an epiphany. Today is my 30th birthday, my step towards a more mature lifestyle, my passing towards a place where being completely wasted and drunk(my existence) is a taboo and it's the defying moment in a women's life where they feel that there time has come and they are wrinkly and old. And yet how is that I feel exactly the same as the day before this fearful monumental turning of age. I mean hell.. I still hate getting up from my warm cosy bed and I still find it extremely annoying as I can't linger on my sweet bed. So at that single moment , I ask myself "What is different now?"

And from the past 2 weeks, I celebrated this turning point in Shanghai and HK surrounded by family and friends. Especially when I had my party in Hong Kong, I saw so many old faces (mind you I have been gone for 4 years) and I realized that all of you guys, my friends have made me the person I am now today. And I have accumulated so much from these 30 years, I am truly blessed. From friends that I made 17 years ago, the new friends in my life to the very significant other that is a huge part of my life today, you have MADE me for better or worse. So kudos to all of you, if you love bobopang. And I look forward to more birthdays with all of you.

Another weekend in Ningbo, my escape from the busy city life in Shanghai. People often ask me what is there to do in Ningbo, what is there to see? And my answer to that is "I don't really know" or care to find out for that matter. Ningbo is a quiet city, where there is no bund scene, all you can drink Champagne brunches etc. which is great for me because it is my weekend of winding down, staying in, relaxing and COOKING!

Shanghai Sharks vs Qing Tao

My Onitsuka Tigers and I enjoying the front row seats

Yesterday I went to my first CBA game this season and boy… things are way different than last year after Yao took over the Shanghai CBA team. The stadium is much cleaner and it looks new, the ticket prices are steeper yet there is a larger crowd. The FANS are actually into basketball unlike last year where games were filled with old men that have nothing better to do with their life and so decide to see a CBA game for 10kuai. John Lucas ex-Rockets teammate of Yao did a good job, he kept the team in a positive momentum and he brings excitement to the team. I hear that Stephon Marbury is going to join the CBA league too, now that’s someone I would like to see courtside.

Fun tidbits of the game:

The language of basketball is universal especially when it comes to being a hooligan. The locals here are surprisingly fluent with the language of “Booooo…. Airrrr ball..and T..T..T” (A prize goes to the first person who can guess what T represents and no its not tea)
Yao Ming is freakishly TALL..yes FREAKISHLY
I also learnt some useful Shanghainese “Ne Zhu Ta” is used while chanting Defense..it means “Kill it” and “Wu Zi” means “You’re da Man”, ppl chant it when someone banks a nice shot
The starting lineup for the Shanghai CHINESE basketball association team is 60% black
I’m irrevocably in love with Liu Wei, but shhh don’t tell my bf
Hook ups I get from my bball teammates are awesome, got the FREE court side ticket! First row baby.. and I saw like 2 other teammates working courtside. And I think “wow..connections..kool! I can never get this back home(HK or Toronto)”
I’m also irrevocably in love with basketball and I always will be and Melody ROCKS

Day and Life of a Tai Tai in Shanghai

The day started with a Weekend Champagne Brunch at T8, using the enjoy coupon (Buy 1 Get 1 Free), I tried the 3-course meal originally 278. The waitress brought us a glass of Perrier Jouet Champagne, it was so yummy that we decided that we must try the free flow. However the service was a bit slow already so I don't know I can really get my money's worth.

Green Massage

Had the oil massage for the 1st time. Was so dazed out afterward.

After going to green, a little shopping at Cityshop then I proceeded to Ferguson Lane for a facial. My appointment was not ready yet, so I went to The Wine Way for a glass of wine. The waitress was very helpful and the store also had the Enoline Wine Dispenser, I've always wanted to try those thingys. The spa had a white minimalistic interior with a chill out room to rest and acclimate after a Dermalogica facial (450RMB). It was amazing experience with an awesome ambiance, but i much rather them use a comedon removing for the extracting process. But all in all my day ended at 830 and I was too lazy to go for a manicure. Lol

Wakeboarding Weekend plus a few new TV Shows (yet all HBO)

Hmmm I don't think I made a New Years Resolution for 2009 (Maybe I did but I forgot what it was) but for someone who didn't make resolutions. I think I made it really far this year..in terms of accomplishing what I'd think I would set as goals for this year...

Let's see.. I have..

Read 3 books so far "Blink" by Malcolm Gladwell and (in a less proud tone)"Twilight" & "New Moon" by Stephanie Meyer. But hey..at least I'm reading.
Travelled to Hawaii and Tokyo, although have been to both places before but still went to NEW parts of it Niigata and Maui. Went skiing for the 1st time too!! And caught my 1st wave!
Told myself I'd focus on either Golf or Wakeboarding this summer. And Wakeboarding overulessssss. Thinking of getting my own board now. DAMN
Running a 10k Nike Race on August 8th and managed to recruit 6 more miserable people to join me. I WILL NOT go down alone
Completed an Interior Design Short Course from Jiao Tung University, Floorplanner & Sketch up is useful, wish I did more CAD Stuff
May perhaps get my own place to be.. oh whats that term.. Financially Independent???
Best part being ..family is getting along great...Can it be? Everyone is happy = bobo is happy

Now just some volunteer work or philanthropy before Christmas time / year end. Then I've been a good girl and I get presents from "Sandy Claws" (don't blame yourself if you don't get the Nightmare before Christmas connotation, not many people do)

So this weekend...Yes... I've done nothing but what the NEW AGE MILLENIUM teenage mutant ninja turtle would do.."Wakeboard" rather than skateboard, PLUS eat pizza and watch TV. Ahhhh Pizza..somehow I think TMNT definitely brainwashed my generation with it. Anyway..TV.. been watching ALL the new stuff from HBO..yes I'm one of the millions that download my TV scoop from http://www.verycd.com/ . Hung is pretty kool but a bit slow for my liking..the protagonist is way too douchbag for me to have pity on him... Is it me or does Anne Heche look like Frances Conroy is Six Feet Under? And the twins being defiant red heads? Hmmm.. Anyway.. Entourage Six.. same old stuff i guess..but Vince just doesn't seem that kool to me anymore.. and everyone is settling down..Kinda boring. And here comes my favorite "True Blood" Season 2... Oh thank you HBO.. Southerners + Vampires..Brilliant..If Vampire Bill wasn't a Vampire..would he be interested in Sookie?? Errr Big Fat NO.. Oh ..its sooo good... True Blood is definitely my fave show for 2008..lets see if its still my fave for 2009

Honestly..i'm not downloading anything else but HBO for now...maybe when "The Hills" or "The City" comes out from MTV.. Oh I may appear to be an intellectual at times but do NOT be fooled I AM A DUMB BLOND BIMBO that yearnsss drama..

Into the wild self destructive path of Galactrix

Definition of my last weekend -A path of self destruction, utter devotion and realization.

Part 1.
During the past 2 days of recovery from my last weekend, I'm sure some of you have recieved random messages from me saying "I loathe myself....." , "Video games are like drugs but Galactrix is like crystal meth" and "Hi my name is Eva and I'm a user" An amazing experience happened last weekend as I got sucked into this uber addictive game Galactrix and i think i definitely discovered a new side of myself (aka my new "low")

I started this game while I was still on vacation, saw my bf playing it on his NDS and he casually asks me if I want to quote unquote "try" and the road to self destruction starts here. We both got super into the game taking turns playing at least a good 5-6 hours combined then the battery ran out. Hence leads to this Saturday where I ask him for the site to download this game.

Background: Yes I have an NDS but I'm a what you would call "NON-USER" , i have never in my entire LIFE finished any video game that i started. Maximum hours spent on a game..perhaps 5 hrs or less

Starts playing the game, in which I needed to restart the whole mission again. Damn!

The DVD movie that I put in plays the same Jingle repeatedly for half an hour. (I usually put movies in when I'm in the house, I may not be watching it but I always like to put it in, i maybe showering, cooking, trying to fall asleep or playing nds. Here the movie ends and I'm too drawn to the game to do anything about the annoying sound of a repeated jingle)

Finally turns off the TV..goes back to the game.

The BF chuckles more: Are you stilling playing...Hee hee heee..(At this point he chuckles so sinisterly..you wonder if he's been secretly waiting for this moment since our 1st date)

Me moaning: Urrrrrrrrggggggggggggghhh ..Nooooooooooo..I just... I just couldn't take it anymore...it was..it was just too much.. I just couldn't do it.. I mean I wanted to..but I just can't

The BF: Wow!

Me: Now I know how you feel like ..and now I understand how you can just eat one meal a day..when i'm playing I don't miss food, peeing or anything...

Then we compare notes on the game. He had the extra mission ahead of us..where we did on the plane and obviously he played for 2 or 3 days after we got back etc. And we discovered that within our last call which was yeserday afternoon and now. I have SURPASSED his level and he finally realizes to what depths of OCD I have sunken to. Come on ..I didn't eat or drink for the whole day.. bathroom ONCE.. I was so into the game I wouldn't mind missing a heart beat or not breathing and suffocate for that matter if it was obsructing my game time.(Lucikly both were easily mutitasked items that were not interfering the game)

The BF: Nooooooooooooooo way... Oh my god... No way......

Part 2.
After 5 minutes, I then returned to my movie "Into the Wild" and it was great, Chris Mccandless lived a happy life indeed. The movie is based on the true story and last writings of the Chris aka Alexander Superstramp. With grades good enough to attend Havard Law School, Chris decided to travel after graduation, abandoning his car, hitchhiking and living in trailer parks. Scraping by at fast food joints to save money for his great Alaskan trip. Some interesting facts that was left out in the movie was that Chris did try to leave but the river was already flooded in which he couldn't cross however ironically a self manuvered tram was only 1/4 mile away from the 142 bus. His body was discovered only 2 weeks after his death by moose hunters when he was alone in the wild for over 4 months.

Many have been quick to judge Chris as being reckless and ignorant to travel with so little to Alaska. But it is they who are not enlightened. If we were to judge Chris on his actions 50years ago, would it seem plausible? How about 100 years ago? For hundreds and thousands of years, man has lived in solidarity with wilderness. Has the modern lifestyle blinded us with materialism and consumption of waste so that living with bare essentials seem moronic, naive and irresponsible? I shun those who judge his actions for it is you that is ignorant in realizing what you are. Although I still eat fast food, watch DVDs, sit in front of a lap top for over 10 hrs a day and play NDS on my weekends. I KNOW who I am and how consumption is eroding the human mind and our beloved nature and to top it all, my career propagates consumption to the full extent. But the point is I KNOW and I may not be brave enough to let go of that false security of belongings and belonging but I vow not to turn my back from this knowlege and try to make a difference.

Yes imagine how shitty I felt after the movie, Chris's seclusion and detachment from the world into the wild was so beautiful and genuine. While my short yet intense seclusion and detachment from EVERYTHING was sooooo dispicable, low and degenerate. Yes. I do loathe myself. Yet do i regret it? No . Will I do the same again? A good 50% and relative soon too I predict. Because also...A rebel, non-conformist, self centered & detached being that I am, will only do what my heart guides me to. So let me end with this

Ooooooo hohoho...finally i retrieve all my stuff back from the POOOlice*.. YEAH!!!!!! (Celebrate Good Time song playing in the background) For those who are not clued in..My car got smashed and broken into and my IPOD, GPS, Briefcase, License Plates, and camera was stolen..but the unthinkable happened.. the police actually caught the guy and returned all my stuff to me. And I was soooooooo happy to get my camera back of course..And NOOOOOOOO I don't have PORNISH photos in it.. I despartely wanted to to check if my Moganshan photos were still there.. And yet ALL but one picture is left in my camera.. Waaaaaaait a minute..this is not mine..By God ..can it be?????

Have finally decided to attend my quote unquote PERFECT friend Donielle's wedding in Hawaii. And all these fond memories of UH just pops into my head. Sigh... And yes little miss goodie two shoes is getting married..i'm making fun of her is only because i'm completely jealous of her because after 9 years of knowing this girl ...dear god.. dare I say she is STILL the nicest person I know on the face on the earth. AND she's like super gorgeous cause i guess being hapa never hurts. Many times have I (being the mischievous creature that i am) and Miho (the rather edgy & bitchy ex-roomate of the bride to be) pondered on her true nature..I mean "COME ONNNNNNNN..she's pretty..she's nice and POLITE too??" (I being Chinese and Miho being Japanese...getting our ass whooped in "politeness" by a haole girl does shun us in shame) And to this day, I don't think I have ever seen a half raised eyebrow let alone a bitch stare. AMAZING.. so now.... I have decided to honor my friend who's the closest thing to being a Mormon (in terms of wholesomeness) without actually being a Mormon, by having a TOP TEN LIST of UH memories with Miho and Donielle (the fond ones and the ones that I try hard to forget but can't)

It's been a while since I've blogged about movie reviews.. firstly coz I haven't been blogging much at all and secondly there weren't just any good films to be blogging about. I mean The Dark Knight was amazing of course, but everyone knows that and yes they were robbed from having a Best Film nomination for Oscars... Last week however I managed to rekindle my love for writing movie reviews and blogging with "The Reader" & "Let the Right One In"

The Reader
Directed by Stephen Daldry (who also directed Billy Elliot, The Hours)

Within the Oscar Nominated Best Films this year, THIS ONE should be the winner. I still don't understand the hype of Slumdog Millionaire, perhaps it will test positive for generating a stimulus to the economy (Thats what everything is about nowadays..right??) Anyway back to the point, the protagonist Micah(Ralph Fiennes) had an affair with an illiterate older womenHannah (Kate Winslet) when he was younger and she disappeared. Later during his study to become a young law student, he saw her agian in the courtroom where she was prosecuted for war crimes. Micah was ashamed of her and didn't even approached her during the trial, later he had the oppotunity to shine light on her trial but he chose not to because he was too cowardly to meet her again. Both their lives are intertwined and later micah the only one knowing her secret decided to sent tapes to prision to read to her. (Knowing that is her love is to read stories) Hannah has extreme hardship and basically she was sent to life imprisionment and had everything taken from her, due to her character's non-filtered simplicity, I believe tha and t she genuinely did not feel about the war crimes which she was responsible for as she believed in her convictions in completing the job task in which she was ordered to do. Eventho she was imprisioned , but she was not emotionally scarred. Whereas Micah ironically becoming a judge is deeply scarred from this incident, he could not commit to a realationship. While preached from his law school teacher, Micah still fails to do the right then and inevitibly suffers. I believe that Micah's love for Hannah is based on his guilt, he did love her deeply then but its his pride which causes him to make the mistake which irrevocably unables him to have emotional closure with their relationship.

Honestly I did not feel too bad for Hannah , as far as I was concerned she lived and was happy to have learnt to read, I did feel that Micah was such a weak individual eventhough his exterior was hard as metal. Some may find his love for Hannah very romantic but I just wonder if its actual love or is it just the idea of making amends and pityness. Perhaps that is the definition for some at times... And perhaps tragedy is the antidote to love..better than sex...

Another romance tragedy? I certainly think so... eventho the protagonist Oskar and Eli do end up together at the end. But it just feeeeeeeeeeeels sooooooooooooo wrong. These two protagonist end up giving up on humanity in the end and now THAT is creepy. I saw a one liner review on the DVD box saying best vampire movie this year! And I being a HUGE vampire style was thinking about gore underworld slash twilight type but boy was I wrong. The images were non violent not a lot of gore at all, probably only less than 3 minutes of gore scene all together in the movie but i was soooooooo scared that I forced myself to watch another movie before I went to bed. And what scared me the most was the characters themselves and their forbidden love. Did I mention that Oskar is the beat up whimp loner in school that has murder fascinations and ELI even more messed up is a casterated boy vampire? The pedafileness ,gay, violence of the movie is so disturbing it made me feel like the characters in "the reader" had a cruise. This movie is simply a must see, directed wonderfully, beautiful cinemaography, the fact that this movie made me get over the fact that the english was weirdly dubbed over, and people was wearing really tacky 80's eastern europe clothing throught it and I not only managed to sit through it but LOVED it says a whole lot. But trust me I won't be able to stomach a rewatch of this anytime soon (Its THAT F^%*&ed up and Disturbing) ..Perhaps after a year.

I must say.. my blog used to have avid readers...but since I got lazier and lazier ...or actually busier and busier with my life. I have not been updating this...which makes me feel bad.

With a new turn coming up..with getting quite sick and all. I'm starting to ponder about where I am with my life. I remember I never wanted to live above 30 since I was a child and after 19 years I still feel the same. Always had this zen , disassociate kind of personality. With 1 more year to go.. I should really think about what I want to do whilst approaching the age of life not so worthy of living..

Like everyone else living in China, I believe I have a serious case of Olympics withdrawal. Past two weeks I've been flipping through channels trying to capture as many Olympic moments as I can. I remember I even shed a tear when I saw the major upset in Women's Fencing Final (And I think it was my first time watching the sport anyways) While many attention or news draw upon that Olypmpics was a show of China's economic dominance and their rivalry with the US for the gold medals. But the images I remember was Yelena Isinbayeva last jump, her Olympic record jump for pole vault, Liu Chang walking away the 110m hurdles prelim leaving a stadium with gasps, Cheng Fei's expression when she was finishing her floor routine(she knew that the women's team has landed gold if she did not have any falls), Bolt thumping his chest when he crossed the 100m dash. Its triumpth , its despair, its a sense of relief, its arrogance, its human nature at its best. Let us not forget that Olympics was created to make peace not war and its a celebration not for countries but for the human race.

Before watching this movie, I have heard some disapointed reviews therefore I believe that gave me a buffer. Hence, its not as bad as I thought it would be. I also thought this would be more of a Drama inspiring film (Along the lines of The Pursuit of Happiness) rather than a comedy. The film had quite a nice freshing start and I had a couple chuckles here and there. Although its felt somewhat fragmented in which Will Smith was doing his Fresh Prince thing and Jason Bateman was doing his Arrested Development thing, it was still funny. Then the film lost me when it took a hard turn into trying to be a romance. Not only is Will Smith and Charlize Theron not a believable couple, it makes their till death do us "together" romance very questionable. So they are soulmates but are better off living forever apart? So Charlize actually likes Jason Bateman more eventhough she will have to live through seeing him age and die? And Will Smith continues being a superhero for the mankind while Charlize Theron opt to be a housewife? FOREVER? Lols

The movie should have stayed with being a comedy...

Watching TV shows and up to a few movies per week, I came across "Running Scared" yesterday and it was surprisingly not completely uninspiring. Its about an undercover cop that needs to find a gun which was used in a gang related shoot out and the quest/journey that it brings upon in less than 24 hrs. Its very Lock Shock and 2 Smoking Barrels but I keep myself keep predicting(on the spot) what is going to happen next. And also the pedophile subplot was over the top but I have to say there was no dull moment in this film. I also liked the hockey arena scene which was pretty kool, and I also liked the opening sequence and the closing credits animation.

If Tarantino liked it, it can't be all that bad. So check it out.

My brother's a Trekkie, my bf's a trekkie. I am bound to have maxium exposure to this Star Trek phnomenon and have my mind impeded with Star Fleet morals. While I had my brother to thank for forcing me to watch TNG (it was TNG TV or NO TV, and when you're around 10 in the early '90s with no PC, it would be an obvious choice for you as well), it gave me a very thorough foundation to Star Trek. But I must say my favourite is "Voyager" and I'm amidst of finishing Season 7. Yes, I borrowed the entire collection from my bf and watched every episode. Its actually pretty good material to watch before you go to bed. Nothing like self righteous drama (but not too dramatic, they always break free at the end) to put you peacefully to sleep.

About a month ago I was quite disappointed that Hilary lost the nomination (Eventho I'm Canadian I still care about worldly issues, and strangely I think I care about the US, China or Hong Kong issues more than Canadian ones). However, I couldn't help thinking ...WHY? Then I was watching "Voyager" and it struck me, in terms of ground breaking characters in Star Trek, a african Captain (DS9) came before a woman Captain (Voyager). And even so historically speaking Black men did get their right to vote in 1860's before women did 1920's. Perhaps its just all coincedences but perhaps its rather a chain or sequent of events that has led to this.

I was also watching "Devi's Classroom", a Japanese short TV series this weekend. And there is 11 episodes in total and I was balling in EVERY episode. Lols!!! No, this is not an epic love story or like tragedy, its actually about a class of 6-graders challenging their home room teacher who is portrayed to be demonic. But actually she is trying to use a Socratic/hard times approach to let the kids learn their own lesson. I know the storyline is actually quite improbable but its one of those Dramas that would make you think , and during each episode when she's preaching, you'll find yourself nodding. Honestly are we really any better than 6 graders? We definitely should know better but are we really putting our utmost efforts to be a better person? Time to reflect on how many times we have took the easy way out, not holding up our principles, and time to think how many times we followed what everyone ELSE did and blaming the society for our wrong doings.

Today I finally attained my free copy of Windows Vista, since I have been using a pirated version for 3+ months without problems yet. So this is rather a victory lap than really having the urgency to use this copy. Nonetheless, Best Buy gave me a Windows Vista Ultimate (Simplified Chinese Version) in which I can dl 11 different language packs with no problem, so it is actually an upgrade from what was originally packed in my window (Home Premium Version)

And to make this victory lap sweeter, Barry came to deliver me the copy. He didn't apologize or anything but when he came over and asked if I were the person he had to deliver it to. I replied with a snickering "Yes...Don't you remember ME?" He of course didn't answer the rhetorical question, but it didn't matter. Because, in the end he is handing me a free copy of Vista with a retail value of RMB2423. Victory has never felt soooo sweet.

The good thing was after I sent the Marketing Director a msg of Thanks, he said he will call me for some feedback. And I think that is probably the best thing, as I do have many suggestions to make as I do not want any of this happening to anyone else.

End note. Only this Chinese saying can fully describe it is "正义长存!!!!" (translates to "Let the truth prevail!)

The following story is appalling and dear friends try not to vomit in disgust..

So here I am trying to return my 2 day old lap top to BEST BUY (one of the largest computer retailer in NA,yes they just freshly opened this Shanghai one). And this Biatch goes: Sorry your product is not defective , you can't return it!

Oh wait, lets back up a minute to 2 days ago, so I go to this BEST BUY browsing for a new lap top, I finally decided on an HP model. Well all this time, the BEST BUY geek squad was talking to me in ENGLISH (as I was present with my clearly Caucasian bf, asking his opinion as I have never been a technical person) So I paid..while waiting for a huge line up and I actually wanted to just take off, i waited to pay..then waited to for them to take the product in. So when it came.. the guy wanted to open the box. Since we were in such a rush, I asked him(ARTHUR the sales of this agonizing ordeal in which I had to blog about), I can return this if there are any problems with my Computer in 15 days and he said "YES"

So we go home, then find out that this HP (very fine model I must say) computer is in SIMPLIFIED CHINESE. So it brings back to this biatch. I go: What do you mean its not defective??? But I can't use it..Its in god damn Chinese..?? What the hell? (Does this biatch understands that my 2 day computer will be just collecting dust when I can't use it?) And I then go : YOU HAVE A 15 day RETURN POLICY, I can return anything. Then she goes : Oh its different here, we're different from the USA. Then it hits me, Lord oh Lord, did I forget I am in Shitty China, I forgot that I was burning in hell, and the oasis of Corporate America would save me. Hmmmm .. interesting.. you share the same LOGO, same Color, same GEEK SQUAD but not the essence of service. Pls don't get me started in a Brand Lecture here. Another day in CHINA town, actually I'm watchin that movie right now (Jack Nicholson is in it)
Well I've been sick the whole week keep on coughin coughin, then feverish, then runny nose. I did a "Gwat Sa" this weekend, they take a spoon or something and scratches my back, it sounds really silly but it sorta works I think, at least I know they did something to the lymphic nodes, as my congested sinuses were cleared at least for a day.

We had another BBQ this weekend, beef kebabs, chiken kababs, lamp chops, rib eye and steamed aspargus(chicken broth+butter). Simply delicious. I guess all that barbequed food isn't really helping my flu but oh well.

Saturday went to this Amekka Cafe and it was only so-so. Last weekend Naoko was here and it was very fun, went to Bar rouge, ate Fu 1039 and also Gu Yi. Chatted about life in general and reminisanted about Hawaii. Oh those were the times..

Today I accomplished quite a lot too, went to the driving range, went to the dentist (finally) then went to the gym and made a warm chicken salad for dinner and baked potatoes..yumm..what would I do widout my potatoes...

At least thats the formula for me, for about a couple months now, I have been having skin problems, they come and go in a few hours, but lately its becoming worse and worse. I did go to a dermatoligist but its not completely cured. And now I have resorted to Chinese Medicine, I remember last year when I was making it, I was screaming and kicking when I unfolded the paper satchet to let the medicine go into my boiling bowl. Why? Coz the Chinese medicine consisted of Dried BUGSZZZ..let alone.. I was almost in tears when downing my medicine. So this time, I had the doc premake the medicine for me, so I would not have to see the contents of the medicine, but its still icky and tastes completely foulllllllllll Anyway will start caring for my body more..will keep up the Chinese herb meds..

K..like..wtf..HKG is bad for me bad bad bad...it like a teenage soap drama every single time i go back. I can't just use the term "my trip was dramatic", I have to say it this way to fully express it "my HKG trip..goooooooooood..like.. DRAMA"

Anyway back to what happened..My lovely friend Lilian invited me to one of her nice cocktail events for a very prestigious magazine which she works for (And yes I actually saw Mr and Mrs Chow Kai Bong ) And I'm there because its free alcohol..I was pretty much begging and naggin to go. And the event was in Central so I drove to have a nice pretty haircut in the afternoon before the event. Then V called me to go earlier around 4ish which was perfect as I was done by then..then it was just drink drink drink..and my phone ran outta battery so I didn't quite have a sense of time..the party was on going..and I think I kinda realized I was ummm wasted..so Grass was nice enuff to accompany me to Chui Wah and eat with me then kicked me on the taxi home..then whilst staring at the garage when arriving home...

"Wow..it looks empty.. wait a minute.. What the FUCKKKKKKKKKKKK... my car..shit..its still in the parking place..shit.."

Then I decided that I should set my alarm at 5am in the morning to make sure I will first go drive the car to Jordan, then meet Triple X lam at the trainstation at 650am to catch the first train to Guangzhou to meet my potential client. Then be back in HKG around afternoon to catch my flight back to Shanghai at 5pm. Let alone.. when you're drunk..you are very inadequent in judging if you are packed or not.. so when I woke up ..I realized I packed everything but my new "HUGE" speakers..then I had to repack everything to fit it in my suit case..and the freaking calling cab person took 30mins to get to my place in which the time I left home was 6:25 which leaves me just enough time to get to the train station to catch the plane..

When I got back..me and Triple X had a nice plan..it was already 230 pm..first..ill taxi to Jordan so that he can pick up my luggage..then Ill take the taxi to Central to get my parked car to drive to Jordan so that my mom can pick it up. Bullet Proof...

When I arrived at the parking.. that parking dude goes... "wah... ho wor mei wor.." (Wow..thats a juicy bill). I go " Yeah..I know" My mind goes "Shut the fuck up".. so its 27 hours in total and 35/hr.... then its HKD945 in total .. Thank you very much...#$%^&*()

So finally I drive out of this bloodsucking piece of shit parking..and an uneasyness feeling just hit me..so I go look in my bag to scourage for my ticket / Id etc.. And my ticket is no where to be found .. now 3:15pm..(with an interscreen cut panned to my house now, like the show 24) The phone rings and my house helper Harsit answers " Wei".. Me "Just run to my room NOW..and don't ask" Harsit "What? Go to your room? Am I lookin for something?" Me " I said don't ask .. now RUN!!!!" At this moment, its no question that I realize I cannot make it back home and to the airport in time to make the flight, so my only option was to call the operator to ask for Shanghai Airlines CS line to BITCH my way out of this shithole. Of course I was transfered like 9 times ..now 3:45..tick tick tick.. and the Rep was telling me how impossible it is to board a flight without a ticket ..blah blah blah.. then using my knowledge of Introductory Bitch Basis 101 ... I said "Well Ok then. So how are you about to help me with my situation now?" Then she said something like I can tell the airline that I lost the ticket then they can reimburse me back the money 1.5 years later.. 1.5 years.. 1.5 years... Oh come on.. my ticket was 840 RMB (*footnote 2 - 105 cheaper than my parking fee..in which i could have parked in the middle of the street..and get a ticket for 320..Wow..they can book me 3 times already yippeee)
What good would 400 RMB be after 1.5 years? The point is I needed to leave NOW

However, without a choice, I had to comply so I phoned my trip ticket agent in China, and asked about the reimbursement, and she said "No..your return flight was free..so no we can't reimburse" Then I asked if I can change my flight to a later day and she said yes..so now its 4:00pm..i'm talkin to this agent whilst collecting BACK my shit from Triple X in the Airport Express Station.

So yes drove back home..got that freakin ticket..and Harsit told me how bobo was so sad lying in the greenhouse and not wanting to move even when my mom calls her..coz my bobo is smart..she knows when I pack my case..I'll be like vanished again.. so my bobochu is wagging her tail following me and barkin for the 5-10 mins ..then I said sorry I had to leave her and gave her a lil kiss.. The guilt of giving her the false hope is terrible...

So Mom calls to ask for the car..and she was asking "When are you leaving?" and I go "emmmm ..I changed my flight to 8:30" (Like I'm gonna tell her that I forgot the CAR last nite, she was asleep when I got home ..and I left at 6-ish while she was still sleeping).. So I pick her up in the car..then she dropped me off to the train station..

Tick Tick Tick 6:35pm..Check in girl goes "Well ..it seems they didn't change your flight.." Me with building rage calmly says "No way.. I'll call my agent right now to clarify this..hold on.." Meanwhile she simultaneously asks the manager if the flight is full and if I can still board. Then me searching my pockets..looking into my bag .. Fuccccccccccccccckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk... Where the fuck is my phone??? Fuck.. fuck... Then I borrow their phone to call my phone.. (*footnote 3 - for those avid readers.. I am happily married with my K608i for almost 10 months now..and I am proud of myself for this commitment..and FYI the buyin phones that cost under 1.5K rule is very very good in kicking the addition of losing phones.. it did wonders for me) Ring Ring, Mom " Dim ar?" Me " Mom...this is my phone..you have it.. I need it .. Can you bring it back to me?? " Mom unwillingly "Well I dunno where that place is...its hard to find.. you kno I can't drive at night" Me go " Mom..I need my phone..." She goes "oh..ok then"

Tick tick tick... 10 mins..15 minss .. the darling check in girl lets me check in..so phew..i'm safe..then 20 mins passed..now time 6:45pm.. I'm like wtf wtf..building anger...and secretly cursing the person who said "oh..how's u're hk trip?? you always have drama" and FLASHBACK just the nite before I said "haha.. no wor.. no drama wor.. hahahah" .. ...stupid jinxing...em...jinxer... Grrr...

7:05..Where the fuck is she..she could have gone home and came back..then I slowly see her pull in.. and she handed thru the window..I wanted to question..why it took so long and scream and let out all my crap on to her..but she's Mom..and she just wasted her time to do me a favor out of her way.. so I just gave her a nod while biting my lip and just gave her a single hand WAVE then turned my back.. I tried really hard to squish out a Thank you..but I couldn't do it coz if I opened my mouth..the only words that would come out is "WTF WTF.. and !@#$%^&*("

So I rushed and ran and hussled to the airport..checked in customs...they threw out my liquids..olive oil..soya souce ..and my insect replelent.. then checked the board..inside the gates.. FM812 - DELAYED... @#$%^&

Tickets.. are important ..they are your ONLY chance to get on an airplane..even if you have their Airline VIP card with means of idenfication..and you are in their computer system..it doesn't mean shit..if you don't have "Le ticket"

Stupidity comes at a very high cost..sometimes more than a return ticket..and NO..I won't stop whining about my guargantuan parking fee..I dont' think I will ever get over it

Burnt pillow, wooden floors are burnt too, from pounding to burnt pillow ...I hope my land lord doesn't see it

Last night after a long nite of partying and drama, I had a little bit of drama myself. I had my normal candle by my bed. I was watchin TV and I guess I dosed off. Then somehow I was woken up by this weird smell. I opened my eyes..then i see my pillow and my blanket ON FIREEEEE. Yes... FIRE... I didn't even have time to scream or swear... First I kicked off my blanket..then the pillow on the floor..Then i picked up the pillow (coz the flames were bigger there and it was easier to handle)..kept smashing it on the ground to put it out. Then I worked on my blanket , threw that against the floor and put it out. But the blanket was still glowing and stuff so i decided to throw it in the tub..put my shower on for a minute..to make sure..the fire won't re-ignite.

Then I was super tired, so I just took my guest blankie then went to bed.

My ah yi came this morning, (THANK GOD), she cleaned up the ASHES on the floor..changed my slightly burnt sheets, sow a part of my blanket cover on to my burnt blanket, and changed my pillow cases.

Last night , right after the fighting with fire thing, I just wanted to sleep. I guess once I felt safe..then I'd be ok to sleep but now thinking back. Its like, if I haven't smelt the burning stuff, I guess I would be burnt? But then how do one wake up from the smell of burnt pillows and blankies?? Weird.. I guess our natural instincts are still here when we need them, hmmm, so maybe I can out run a leopard next time..

My final thought: When I'm getting my own place and doing my own interior, I am definitely getting Non flamable Pillows / Blankets etc. I remember seeing a episode of sixty minutes of how a whole freaking mattress can burn up in 3 minutes and crap..pillows burn better than charcol......

Oh and for those who are reading my blog.. yes.. I mite have been a goner..so be nice to me..and spoil me more..LOLS

My favourite part of the movie, when he brought her flours (flowers), any girl would warm up to that.

The various themes of this movie, fate vs free will, cassandra complex, intertwined lives, parallel plots,does personality determines your fate or vice versa so forth I absolutly loved this movie because I have always been the biggest fan of fate, Que sera sera, I think it is what get me thru bad moments in time. I am sure if I have lost any particular fraction of second of my life, I or my life would be entirely different but yours would be entirely different too because we are all interelated.

But I do however think that our personality affects the person we are, the inner motifs which constitute our choices in life. Being such a big beliver in fate, I always had the happy go lucky memento when shit happens, I would definitely say that I had my fair share of hard times and it did in fact changed my personality. But wait a minute, my personality is actually predisposed as I am also a true believer in zodiac signs. Pisces in Sun, Virgo in Moon. The best that they come with. A truly empathatic peaceful individual who is also a rational determined perfectionist. Which equals, the Type B personality enterprenuer, the determined artist, the little girl who speaks like an adult, the adult who likes to whine to get attention and cuddles, definitely the passivist who is passively agressive, most of all, just an irony that works out pretty well. I am now at the age that would want to be very well developed in my career (which means i will have the brains to screw those in my way, but do not have the stomach for it, emmmmm...unless you make me / my goodness, the negative -postive-negative paradox) With my life, I think it would be nice to be wealthy, but I know that would not be my sole motivator, I would very much want to help, educate and somewhat change and impact the world. As now living in China, I do realize how drasticly different peoples lives can be when they are uncivilized and uneducated.

I never ever regret and do not plan to also, I have always chosen how I live life, after this movie I know how I want to live it or what diretion to live it. I know for me to pursuit happiness is to do what you love, in order to love what you do.

March Madness II - UA857

So march madness continues...I did had an uneasy quesssie kinda feeling today..I almost didn't make it to my connecting flight in San Fran as my flight in LAX was delayed for 30 mins. So I could not do the check out check in again. But they gave me an inter connecting flight. But I got thru even got time to go to Duty free then I went to the gate then they said i was a 'dead seat' coz technically i didn't check in. Anyway, i finally got on the flight and all was sailing until..........i heard an announcement saying that we have to head back to San fran..as a chunk of our wing was left on the driveway...phew..we had to head back to check on it..by the time we arrived it was 5pm ..so pretty much we had to wait for the next morning. So I checked into this motel...requested for a room with a nicer view...then called Ric and Connie..and met them for dinner.. If there was something good out of this incicent..it must be them.

Then I took the duty free red that i bought to the dinner, we went to elephant man , it was nice. Talked for the whole dinner, it was so nice..its likely that they will come to our cottage trip.. YEY! Anyhoo.. I still had one more white wine at my motel.. so i had to drink it ..since I already broke the duty free seal..excuses excuses.. what better time to get wasted on a day of expected delay..(i even wanted to smoke...lols..I did not of course)

Anyway..the wine is soaked in the ice bucket..i'm showered set the alarm.. with some greasy food..since i had a gift coupon..lols..i ordered stuff eventho i was completely full.

Anyhoo..the pic above was when our flight had to dump the fuel to get light enuff to have a safe landing.
It was near San Diego I belive, west coast anyhow...

I caught a glimpse of March madness which I was very happy about....LOLS...

Its a horror movie for all women. I would not have bought this DVD if I had known the story, thought it was a chic flick but how wrong was I.

The tagline was : We all make choices, what's yours?

The most memorable part was when the father in-law was giving Zack Braff after he was chasing his wife back after cheating on her cause he had cold feet. I remember Zack said: I know NOW, I cannot live without her and I love her. Then the father in law said : What you feel only matters to you. It's what you do to the people you love. That's what matters. That's the only thing that counts.

How true....

The movie had a happy ending sort of speak, but what is a happy ending in life, is it that you were happy at the end of your life, or is it an accumlation? Like you were sad at the end, but most of your life was good so it's a good ending. Oh god, I dunno... happy endings are just relevant to time, since most of us dunno when is the end, therefore its the journey that counts? Being so zen lately..hrmmm ..can't help it. LOLs

But honestly when at the end, the wife lets Zack back into the house, i was thinking you don't know what you're getting into, I can just see the problems ahead..LOLs ...pessimistic me.. one of my friends reminded me that how much I wanted a family...hmm....the far distant dream

CNY in Hong Kong - Blackholes and Revelations

How do I start to recap this trip? Thoughts and images are overflowing in my mind but words escape me. For starters, it was INTENSE. I was happy, depressed, angry, sympathethic, felt despair and had hope, was lost then found. It was a journey indeed, in which it taught me a valuable lesson in relationships, family , friends etc. I have walked thru the valley of the shadows of death, and seen the repricussions of unconditional love and the consequences of when that love is not reciprocated.Its a never-ending vicious cyle, having a false pretense and not getting a return will only get you the worse emotion that anyone can get... Not depression but rather the deadliest of them all.. Disapointment.

It was an invaluable lesson indeed, I have relearned to love and not love (cut your losses while still short sort of speak), i have learned to treasure and cherish those you love and also are in need of it, AND NEVER EVER TAKE ANYTHING FOR GRANTED and also being rational and calm will almost always help to judge the situation. Eventhough its always easier to go with your heart, but acting on your mind will almost always be a better way out. Yes, my sun sign is Pisces, but my moon sign is Virgo, direct opposites, trying to skew myself towards the moon from now on.

Muse concert on March 3rd my birthday, best concert that I have ever seen, and considering that I always thought that Matt Bellamy is the hottest lead any band can have, but the energy that they project off the stage is stellar. I'm glad it was not a huge crowd, which means that almost every person that was there was a fan. Come on people, normally quiet kongers jumping up and down and screaming and singing the lyrics??? They must be true fans. I would say "Time is running out" was the climax of the nite. But "Starlight" hit a special spot for me.

My clip of the concert had terrible sound recording, so pls enjoy this instead. Dedicated to my family, relatives and friends who I will ever love so dearly.
