Body Check up....hrmmm...

Went to my check up today... coz every foreigner who works in Shanghai apparently has to do a body check up. Of coz I was frowning and looking away while they took my blood and all that. But weird thing was I found out that I had Sinus Irregularity and Heart Murmurs. Sinus irregularity is apparently pretty regular..but heart murmurs may be an indication of heart disease...

What Is a Heart Murmur?
A heart murmur is an extra or unusual sound heard during your heartbeat. Murmurs range from very faint to very loud and sometimes sound like a whooshing or swishing noise. Normal heartbeat sounds—"lub-DUPP" or "lub-DUB"—are the valves closing as blood moves through the heart. (Go to the How the Heart Works section for more information about how a normal heart works.)
A heart murmur is not a disease; it is a sound that the doctor hears with a stethoscope. It may be normal, or it could be a sign that something may be wrong. Most heart murmurs are harmless. Some are signs of heart problems, especially if other signs or symptoms of a heart problem are present.

Types of Murmurs

Innocent (harmless) murmurs
A person with an innocent murmur has a normal heart and usually has no other signs or symptoms of a heart problem. Innocent murmurs are common in healthy children.

Abnormal murmurs
A person with an abnormal murmur usually has other signs or symptoms of a heart problem. Most abnormal murmurs in children are due to congenital heart defects—heart defects present at birth. In adults, abnormal murmurs are most often due to heart valve problems caused by infection, disease, or aging.


I think the most rational reason for my heart murmurs is that im a healthy child???!!!

It seems that work has just infiltrated my life entirely lately...always on the phone even during midnite..went to work saturday. I played some golf afterwards..... whenever I play golf..my right side of my back hurts..i guess its coz of my posture or something. Anyhoo.. went to an italian restaurant Cameo then went to Pier One..I really liked that place...I liked the view of overlookin the park with a nice pond. Very relaxing.. By looking at a view like that..I could just stare at it ..and just blank out.. and that was nice..coz too many things have been on my mind lately.
Well today I woke up at like 3.. read some magazines and did a little bit of sudoku..then went out to grab some beer..then watched the Fiba China vs Greece game wid siu keung.. the best thing was we ordered PIZZA!!!!!! Beer, pizza and the game..great..eventho China did lose but it was fun to watch...After that I went for a massage.. I dunno why every time after a massage.. i like loose my balance and wobble about like im drunk or something..anyway my back is better now......

Work Hard.. Play Harrrrrrder

So I had 10 ppl visiting me last weekend..Craziness...Anyway..Thanks to Des, Grace, Wincy, Web, Bow Bow, Fi, Kan, Wendy, Stanley and Yui for coming to see me..I had one of my best weekends in Shanghai ever.

Highlights

• Drinking till 5 in the morning everyday, Sunday nite was the worst, started at 5pm drank red wine, white wine, went to Jap restaurant, drank sake, plum wine, beer, then went to Grand Hyatt and drank red wine and grolsh..then went back to home and drank champagne. Had a splitting headache..Passed out and forgot to say bye to Yui.
• Stayin in a nice VIP room in Bar Rouge.. How nice...Happy Bday Dean!!!
• Seeing Yui (Haven't seen this guy since graduation... 8 years!!!!!! I feel old)
• Got money thrown at my face by my good frd Bow Bow
• Almost losing my new phone within 24hrs (Now I have a rewards plan, my buddies say will buy me a free K600i if I don't lose my new phone in 2 months..judging from what I did..they think its a safe bet)
• Seeing funny drunks..Bow Bow, Yui and my enemy Web (They were yelling "Pizza..Pizza ..Pizza" at 3am..starting a riot..and I had to say "Fuck..I told you like a million times..its freakin closed")

Can't wait to party like that again..tee hee!!!!!!!! Wait for Guo Xing la.. I'll be back!!

I guess as the saying goes..if a door closes ..there's always a window of opportunity for something greater. Lately I've been having a lot of "windows"..i'm just on a roll and have a struck of luck. I can't believe that I'm doing this well here in just half a year, considering that I've been struggling so much at the start. I feel like I have full support and back up and now I just have to live up to expections (for others and myself of coz)

This is what I wanted ..what i yearned..what i strived for.. so no looking back .. no nothing..so just go.. and live it up.

Oh it was a quick trip.. I arrived to Cork airport around midnite..checked in the hotel..checked my emails..waited for the SHA office to open..sent some more emails and went to bed around 3am..woke up at 9am..headed out. So I heard that Kinsale was a nice town by the sea..so I just asked to front desk to the nearest bus station ..then waitied..the people in Ireland are generally REALLY nice.. I kinda forgot how cultivated human beings can be.. a couple of ppl chatted me up while I was waiting for the bus and the bus station manager even made sure I got on the right bus. How nice..

I arrived to Kinsale half an hour later..walked around a bit..it was really a relaxing place..and they had a Farmer's market that day which was just lovely.. a lot of homemade food.. cheese..pies..jam..meat loaf..hummus..crepes.. all the food u can get. There were 2 musicians playing jazz in the corner..so the place was like sooo decent and relaxing..there was this little kid dancing along too.. Sooo cute.. (Check the clip) Anyway..after grabbing some food I got a can of Druids Premium Irish Cider...It was quite nice..after that I waited to get on the bus to head back...

Eventho it was just 2 hrs in this little town..but it felt great..it felt different..I mean..the world is a vast place and sometimes when u think you're trapped or cagged..u just have to kno what santuaries are prolly just hours away.

Eventho I hated the cheap plastic seats in the stadium, but no one was sitting down anywayz. There was like NO AC..or maybe they did and it was way to stuffy.. I had like cold sweat during the whole show.
No doubt I was pumped after the show..then went to Wynn Win..er...mistake..coz I forgot that they played house. Anyways.. did get the dancing out of my system.

The break up

My NYC trip

I arrived the the Big Apple yesterday around 3pm, then I went to the office chatted up for half an hour then went back to the hotel. After a 20hr flight, I was pretty smashed, after indulging in a NY Strip Sirloin and fresh berries for desert (Room service btw... I kno ..i kno.. spoiled) I decided to take a short nap ..then prolly go walk around ..then I woke up all of a sudden then realized it was 10pm (but I was supposed to have a drink with some colleagues during 9:30) Anyway..I rushed down..tired and all and went out to grab a bite with them...after that I went back to my room ..showered..then waited for a document from email...till 2am..darn it...

Had 5 hrs of sleep...ONLY

Then woke up 7am and went on my business trip to Philadephia..3 hrs on the road..3 hr meeting in Philly..had lunch..headed back to Newark..for another meeting..then went to Manhattan soho for dinner.. whilst passing by the various shops in Soho..my heart was torn into pieces as I could not enter those cute little botiques. Its mental torture..it is..honestly..its not humane.. to pass by one of the most facinating shopping areas and not be able to go into the shops... I was pratcially drooling when I passed by Miss Sixty (SALE SIGN)..Anthropologie (only available in the States)..Diesel (my fave store)..REISS (the kool UK brand)..

However.. I did rather enjoy my meal..we all went to this Italian Restaurant located in centre Soho area. Off the bat, I noticed that the ppl eating there were either incredibily hot or chic. (Even the old ppl looked good..skinny..fashionable..with an uptown kinda radiance) We sat in the garden terrace..very nice with the summer breeze..had some italian wine..Chianti..."Castello di Fonterutoli "..very full bodied...yum..I had a salad plus beef carpaccio..but the real deal was the desert ..a warm banana tart with ice cream on top AND a nice cup of espresso. Absolutely heavenly....

Quite an eventful weekend I must say.. Japanese food on Friday night..went to Frabrique (sucked)..went to windows.. left windows... went back to windows to find my friends..then went to "Siu Yeah" in "Sun Wang"..gosh felt like "Tsui Wah" ..that place!!

Saturday was work work work..then home..laundry..then World Cup...goooooo England!!! Then went to Bar Rouge eventho I was extremely tired..but I know Teresa will twist my neck if I don't go. It was a fun night..moderate drinking and lots of dancing..thats the way to go I think..

Sunday.. yoga.. then golf..eventho my ribs were still hurting.. After yoga..my ribs actually had a heated burning sensation..its prolly from the circulation ..I don't know..But for some reason..I kinda think it would heal it better.. then golf..I couldn't fully extend my swing coz of my ribs.. and some guy next to my lane..couldn't bear my posture and started coaching me.. gosh ..now I have to relearn it again...urghhhhhhh....!!! Hopefully I'll get a coach if I get my salary next month..lols

But of coz I have snowboarded before...

So I went to snowboarding for the first time today..(i can hear the audience gasping and shaking their heads in disblief)..since when is it a crime for an individual who had lived in Toronto for half of their life has never tried snowboarding / skiing? huh??? Tell me... To make my whole experience more eerie than it is.. I had my first go of the sport in a pretty skimpy indoor place in Shanghai...think smelly equipment with no ski lift..oh wait they did have one..but its so crappy I just refuse to believe that it is a ski lift.

Snowboarding is considered an extreme sport for various reasons.. sometimes its extremely dangerous..but yet extremely fun eventho you're in extreme pain. Let me explain...

After my short intro lesson.. I had a few runs in the bunny slopes.. then I decided to go to the intermediate level (where the sign clearly saids beginners or ppl who can't stop or ppl who can't turn should not enter) But..come on.. knowing my mischevious and adventurous nature ..PLUS..snowboarding is all about looking good..rolling and falling down the slope looks way better then going down a bunny slope at grandma speed. So I went down.. the first few times was alrite..I mean of coz i fell and tumbled a bit ..but no biggie ..it was still fun.. Then about on the 5th or 6th go.. I freakin skidded on the far left and fell on some hard snow..I did like 2 somersaults I think..and when I stopped I just naturally grabbed the sides of my ribs... and in my mind I was thinking boy this really hurts..damn it..while on the other hand I was thinking..falling and doing somersaults in a highly accelerated speed is actually quite exhilerating and quite fun..emmm..am I a masocist or something? Anyhoo after that.. my left ribs kinda hurt while I deep breathe and stuff so I decided to pratice turning on the bunny slopes again...then when it was about time to leave.. I went back to the intermediate slope to go for a few runs for the last time. Everything was ok until my last go.. it had to be like that..why..?? I freaking fell into the same spot..hitting the same spot (my left ribs)..but HARDERRRRRRR! It hurt so much I wanted to scream..but I couldn't..coz I guess the hit was so hard..I couldn't even breathe for like 5 seconds... Oi.....

Injury list
- Strained left ribs I think....can't hold my back straight widout pain..and it hurts even when i yawn...
- Bruise on left foot
- Bruise on left calve..with freaking warts (cox the Class A staff was nice enuff to help me tie the boots but he tied it too damn tight)

After dinner.. I then went for a massage..and the guy keeps telling me..whats wrong with u're neck, back ,spine and lower back..they're all so stiff? I tried to mumble something back but didn't coz I was too busy try to hold my breathe thru all the pain.. but in my mind i was thinkin... neck..prolly coz my head was diving and rollin around in the snow so much..back..prolly coz the back is right next to my ribs???..Spine..think i landed on that during my somersaults at some point..lower back..hell I have no idea..

It was worth it tho...I spose..coz now when ppl ask me..I can say "Oh yes..but of coz I snowboarded before.. you silly...!!"

Yawnnnnn..I'm tired..(Grabbing ribs)..Doh!!!

Heaven on earth

今次系我第一次去resort...重要一行9人.....再诱搭一对couple成功...变左11人（其实都吾知边个聊边个先....) 成件事实在太开心啦！

第一日 - 搭MU去Bangkok..我搭飞机成2X年...不下100次..真系第一次上左飞机, 开左机，然后captain再announce maybe 机件固章..in the middle of the runway..要转机o罗. 心里面讲左 "Delay no more" X 1000次！Finally 凌晨4am 先到hotel! 由于太夜啦..所以stayed at Saimun's and Him's room to sleep. 费是糟醒 Sofaye and Wincy...点知 Wincy训训下弹醒揾bobopang..好猪同好笨o罗！！

第二日 - 搭3个钟车去华欣..好开心可以游水啦. 我重懒开心甘买左件650蚊既Roxy泳衣!!! BUT....未落水就澜左o罗..重要系中间前面个扣o罗...其实都系拾番身彩..如果系游游下 broken..甘就成世..嗯..好彩 Wincy 借左 her extra swimsuit 比我！夜晚就文少请吃饭..女朋友生日..吾系吾请呀？ Ka ka ka.. 不过我地班朋友都吾系无做野架..比左Grace 一个 suprise..重 make her teary eyed 添！

第三日 - 0630通告..因为0730要leave hotel..coz 0800 就要 tee off! 其实我响 1st hole 都吾知自己做紧D what..但系之后越打越顺，亚 Him 话我 look like 来倾生意，好游 and carefree 甘！第一次落 Green ... 150干..算系甘啦！可能因为有好成绩既影响...就即日懒 Pro 甘买左对 Addi Golf 鞋同 La Coq Spotif 既 Golf 衫 !

第四日 - 响 Pool 度玩左 whole morning.. 锭下波呀.. 推来推去呀..去 Pool Side Bar 入下油....又顶下波呀..打下交呀..推下人落水呀...原来好鬼tired..Afternoon 重同 亚 Him 踢左阵波..再一班人去打 Tennis.. Then 去左 Hilton 附近吃饭..其实成11人系条街度行..都米话吾繁..我本身个人又impatient and short fuse..又易着..好在 Finally 有 decision. 我, Saimun 同 Him 去左 Lavazza 吃 Gelatto! 即刻冷静晒.... woooo....

第五日 - 再去 Poolside dip 一 dip ..就番home lu ...



Boy did I have a blast at Thailand!!!! A bunch of us close buddies went to this resort in Hua Hin , it was called Anatara and it was absolutely fabulous. The weather was nice, food was cheap, I got a nice tan.. perfect vacation. The room that I stayed in sorta had this little backyard patio, and we would sip wine and chat whilst listening to the waves. How heavenly is that??

The first day I arrived I sorta had this incident... I was trying on my 100 dollar brand new Roxy bikini, the front metally / plasticky part that was holding the whole thing togther just snapped!! I was pretty pissed and disapointed..since it never got chance to even touch the water..but then I was also VERRRRRRRRRY relieved that it didn't snap while i was swimming or something.... Horrific..Anyhoo..i borrowed Wincy's swimming suit then totally chilled out at the pool..Gosh...I think Pool side bars prolly rank next to Internet on "Best Inventions Ever"

I also went golfing during my trip..my first time on the green.. I had no idea what the hell I was doing at first but then I sorta got the feel for it..and we had a nice coach who kept pushing us.. 150 for my first time..I think I did not too shabby since I was a sore sight to bear whilst in the driving range. It was soo much fun except for the part where we had to wait 30mins for our cab and mosquitoes were feasting on my legs since I was dumb enuff to wear shorts. I got soooooooo grumpy and fiesty. After playin..we all went to town to shop..and under the intoxiation of the brief illusion that I was pretty good at golf.. I bought a pair of Addidas golf shoes and a La Coq Sportif Golf T-Shirt. Yeah yeah....just shut up right now.. What you wear is what you are essentially... And of coz..I will be a better player if I wear all that crap... LOLS

Yes..the trip had a perfect mixture of fun, sun , shopping, good food and alcohol! Can't wait for our next trip..maybe during summer next year??? BTW

The Pros and Cons for having a temp roomie

So my friend is staying with me for a while coz he's searching for an apartment, gosh its been ages since I've had a roomate, ever since university....anyway..its all coming back to me right now...ah...

Roomie buggers
- Answers your HOME phone for you and informs your aunt that you're at the Gym (I mean.. I myself don't even answer my phone..and whats up with the privacy thing..)
- Can't walk around the apartment naked anymore (I mean I don't do that a lot..just that I don't have that privelage anymore)
- Has to listen about their love life when you don't have one yourself


Roomie hoorahs
- Someone to share a bottle of "Mumms Champagne" every other night (Wait a minute...im not sure if thats a good thing or a bad thing)
- Cleans, Mops and buys Cheerios...(awww so nice!!!)
- Watches movies and sitcoms together and share some laughs
- Stays at home for you and to wait for the maintence guy to fix your stupid exploding water pipes (God..I DON'T want to get into that story..)

Hrrmmm..I guess roomies are neither good nor bad ..I spose...Lols..
