A very very very goofy near death experience

The black stuff is ashes...

Burnt pillow, wooden floors are burnt too, from pounding to burnt pillow ...I hope my land lord doesn't see it

Last night after a long nite of partying and drama, I had a little bit of drama myself. I had my normal candle by my bed. I was watchin TV and I guess I dosed off. Then somehow I was woken up by this weird smell. I opened my eyes..then i see my pillow and my blanket ON FIREEEEE. Yes... FIRE... I didn't even have time to scream or swear... First I kicked off my blanket..then the pillow on the floor..Then i picked up the pillow (coz the flames were bigger there and it was easier to handle)..kept smashing it on the ground to put it out. Then I worked on my blanket , threw that against the floor and put it out. But the blanket was still glowing and stuff so i decided to throw it in the tub..put my shower on for a minute..to make sure..the fire won't re-ignite.

Then I was super tired, so I just took my guest blankie then went to bed.

My ah yi came this morning, (THANK GOD), she cleaned up the ASHES on the floor..changed my slightly burnt sheets, sow a part of my blanket cover on to my burnt blanket, and changed my pillow cases.

Last night , right after the fighting with fire thing, I just wanted to sleep. I guess once I felt safe..then I'd be ok to sleep but now thinking back. Its like, if I haven't smelt the burning stuff, I guess I would be burnt? But then how do one wake up from the smell of burnt pillows and blankies?? Weird.. I guess our natural instincts are still here when we need them, hmmm, so maybe I can out run a leopard next time..

My final thought: When I'm getting my own place and doing my own interior, I am definitely getting Non flamable Pillows / Blankets etc. I remember seeing a episode of sixty minutes of how a whole freaking mattress can burn up in 3 minutes and crap..pillows burn better than charcol......

Oh and for those who are reading my blog.. yes.. I mite have been a goner..so be nice to me..and spoil me more..LOLS

Stranger than Fiction

My favourite part of the movie, when he brought her flours (flowers), any girl would warm up to that.

The various themes of this movie, fate vs free will, cassandra complex, intertwined lives, parallel plots, does personality determines your fate or vice versa so forth I absolutly loved this movie because I have always been the biggest fan of fate, Que sera sera, I think it is what get me thru bad moments in time. I am sure if I have lost any particular fraction of second of my life, I or my life would be entirely different but yours would be entirely different too because we are all interelated.

"We must remember that all these things, the nusances, the anomalies, the subtilties which we assume only accesorize our days, are in fact here for a much larger and nobler cause. They are here to save our lifes"
-Narrator

But I do however think that our personality affects the person we are, the inner motifs which constitute our choices in life. Being such a big beliver in fate, I always had the happy go lucky memento when shit happens, I would definitely say that I had my fair share of hard times and it did in fact changed my personality. But wait a minute, my personality is actually predisposed as I am also a true believer in zodiac signs. Pisces in Sun, Virgo in Moon. The best that they come with. A truly empathatic peaceful individual who is also a rational determined perfectionist. Which equals, the Type B personality enterprenuer, the determined artist, the little girl who speaks like an adult, the adult who likes to whine to get attention and cuddles, definitely the passivist who is passively agressive, most of all, just an irony that works out pretty well. I am now at the age that would want to be very well developed in my career (which means i will have the brains to screw those in my way, but do not have the stomach for it, emmmmm...unless you make me / my goodness, the negative -postive-negative paradox) With my life, I think it would be nice to be wealthy, but I know that would not be my sole motivator, I would very much want to help, educate and somewhat change and impact the world. As now living in China, I do realize how drasticly different peoples lives can be when they are uncivilized and uneducated.

I never ever regret and do not plan to also, I have always chosen how I live life, after this movie I know how I want to live it or what diretion to live it. I know for me to pursuit happiness is to do what you love, in order to love what you do.

Dr. Jules Hilbert:
"
Hell Harold, you could just eat nothing but pancakes if you wanted. "

Harold Crick:
"What is wrong with you? Hey, I don't want to eat nothing but pancakes, I want to live! I mean, who in their right mind in a choice between pancakes and living chooses pancakes? "

Dr. Jules Hilbert:
"Harold, if you pause to think, you'd realize that that answer is inextricably contingent upon the type of life being led... and, of course, the quality of the pancakes."

A change of life is all I need....

March Madness II - UA857

So march madness continues...I did had an uneasy quesssie kinda feeling today..I almost didn't make it to my connecting flight in San Fran as my flight in LAX was delayed for 30 mins. So I could not do the check out check in again. But they gave me an inter connecting flight. But I got thru even got time to go to Duty free then I went to the gate then they said i was a 'dead seat' coz technically i didn't check in. Anyway, i finally got on the flight and all was sailing until..........i heard an announcement saying that we have to head back to San fran..as a chunk of our wing was left on the driveway...phew..we had to head back to check on it..by the time we arrived it was 5pm ..so pretty much we had to wait for the next morning. So I checked into this motel...requested for a room with a nicer view...then called Ric and Connie..and met them for dinner.. If there was something good out of this incicent..it must be them.

Then I took the duty free red that i bought to the dinner, we went to elephant man , it was nice. Talked for the whole dinner, it was so nice..its likely that they will come to our cottage trip.. YEY! Anyhoo.. I still had one more white wine at my motel.. so i had to drink it ..since I already broke the duty free seal..excuses excuses.. what better time to get wasted on a day of expected delay..(i even wanted to smoke...lols..I did not of course)

Anyway..the wine is soaked in the ice bucket..i'm showered set the alarm.. with some greasy food..since i had a gift coupon..lols..i ordered stuff eventho i was completely full.

Anyhoo..the pic above was when our flight had to dump the fuel to get light enuff to have a safe landing.
It was near San Diego I belive, west coast anyhow...

I caught a glimpse of March madness which I was very happy about....LOLS...
March Madness ...thats what it is... that is what it is...

The Last Kiss

Its a horror movie for all women. I would not have bought this DVD if I had known the story, thought it was a chic flick but how wrong was I.

The tagline was : We all make choices, what's yours?

The most memorable part was when the father in-law was giving Zack Braff after he was chasing his wife back after cheating on her cause he had cold feet. I remember Zack said: I know NOW, I cannot live without her and I love her. Then the father in law said : What you feel only matters to you. It's what you do to the people you love. That's what matters. That's the only thing that counts.

How true....

The movie had a happy ending sort of speak, but what is a happy ending in life, is it that you were happy at the end of your life, or is it an accumlation? Like you were sad at the end, but most of your life was good so it's a good ending. Oh god, I dunno... happy endings are just relevant to time, since most of us dunno when is the end, therefore its the journey that counts? Being so zen lately..hrmmm ..can't help it. LOLs

But honestly when at the end, the wife lets Zack back into the house, i was thinking you don't know what you're getting into, I can just see the problems ahead..LOLs ...pessimistic me.. one of my friends reminded me that how much I wanted a family...hmm....the far distant dream

CNY in Hong Kong - Blackholes and Revelations

How do I start to recap this trip? Thoughts and images are overflowing in my mind but words escape me. For starters, it was INTENSE. I was happy, depressed, angry, sympathethic, felt despair and had hope, was lost then found. It was a journey indeed, in which it taught me a valuable lesson in relationships, family , friends etc. I have walked thru the valley of the shadows of death, and seen the repricussions of unconditional love and the consequences of when that love is not reciprocated. Its a never-ending vicious cyle, having a false pretense and not getting a return will only get you the worse emotion that anyone can get... Not depression but rather the deadliest of them all.. Disapointment.

It was an invaluable lesson indeed, I have relearned to love and not love (cut your losses while still short sort of speak), i have learned to treasure and cherish those you love and also are in need of it, AND NEVER EVER TAKE ANYTHING FOR GRANTED and also being rational and calm will almost always help to judge the situation. Eventhough its always easier to go with your heart, but acting on your mind will almost always be a better way out. Yes, my sun sign is Pisces, but my moon sign is Virgo, direct opposites, trying to skew myself towards the moon from now on.

Muse concert on March 3rd my birthday, best concert that I have ever seen, and considering that I always thought that Matt Bellamy is the hottest lead any band can have, but the energy that they project off the stage is stellar. I'm glad it was not a huge crowd, which means that almost every person that was there was a fan. Come on people, normally quiet kongers jumping up and down and screaming and singing the lyrics??? They must be true fans. I would say "Time is running out" was the climax of the nite. But "Starlight" hit a special spot for me.

My clip of the concert had terrible sound recording, so pls enjoy this instead. Dedicated to my family, relatives and friends who I will ever love so dearly.

So faye, DB
- Cannot imagine the consequences of not having you as friend, i know i have said this a gazillion times but forever in your debt
Jacky

- Thanks for just being there that night and just taking really good care of me, sorry that I ruined your black suit and I owe you dinner
Alam

- Thanks for being a great friend and helping me getting a shot for the client
CP
- Thanks for taking me to this GREAT concert, best and only birthday present (cakes and red pocket cash doesn't really count i believe). Or perhaps I owe you $400? Lols....

Starlight - Muse

Far away
This ship is taking me far away
Far away from the memories
Of the people who care if I live or die

Starlight I will be chasing your starlight
Until the end of my life
I dont know if it's worth it anymore

Hold you in my arms
I just wanted to
Hold you in my arms

My life
You electrify my life
Let's conspire to ignite
All the cells that would die just to feel alive

I'll never let you go
If you promise not to fade away
Never fade away...

Our hopes and expectations
Black holes and revelations

Lost in Deportation?

Life works in mysterious ways, personally I often feel very alienated in airports or on plane rides. I'm sure I have been on planes at least a couple hundred times, and the feeling is still the same. Its probably because airports/planes often signifies that you are leaving someplace or someone behind. My soul would often have a sense of vacantness or emptiness during the time between airport to airport.

Well today, I rather had a very interesting experience in this PVG airport. When I got off the plane in PVG, I dashed as always to the immigration(I know my ways in this airport, I know the quickest lane out etc etc) I stood in line flilled in my form..and franticly trying to get my ID out it time. Alas.. its my turn..but wait..where is my ID.. I dug and I dug...nothing.. its ok..I'll just stand aside (but still in line of coz)..and wait till I find it. Minutes passed, the immigration officer told me to go to the back of the room so that I could find space to open my carry on luggage to continue to find my ID. Sigh.. well.. no choice then. So I walked back to the end of the room....

Half an hour later, I painfully realised that I lost my China ID card. So I walked to the guard on the side and told him my situation, there he radio-ed someone..saying I lost my card..and told me that the ground crew will try to check on it . 20mins later..this other lady..came to him and told him the same case, apparently she has a flight to catch at 9pm, it was just 4:30 by then so still tonnes of time. Then after a while I realised that there is this girl..that was sort of waiting too. Then she started to grow very impatient then not long after the crew returned her passport back to her. So in my mind, I was thinking hmm..so ok..it can't be too bad..."ERRRRRRRRtTTTT" ..wrong..

So after 2 hrs or People's Magazine and Vogue reading, I chatted up the lady who also lost her passport. And I asked the guard, is there any possibility fo rme to go thru. The FM(Shanghai Airlines) person finally came to find me, and accompanied to the visa office. Well let me tell you folks.. HK ID doesn't mean shit..in China..eventhough I told them that i had another ID which was my working permit, but it was in my office, they did not care. And for you Canadians out there, you are not welcome here either, eventhough we are the friendliest bunch. Your passport doesn't mean shit either without a visa. So now that I realized I have no alternate way to charm my way thru the customs... I call my BOSSSSSSS...which I really didn't want to do... and she goes.. why didn't you tell me earlier??? And now..my cell is out of battery and reach.. so she sent a person from MU to take care of me..and that she can call that person's cell to get in touch.

Now..my stupid plane had already turned around to HKG, so i have to wait for the news if they found my ID or not. The last flight back to HK is 8:30, and the plane would touch down in HK is 7:30, so it means if they can find it, then I don't have to go back. But if they don't, I have to catch the plane back to HK. DRAMA......

And from all this time, I was chatting up with the security guard. So what do to talk about with someone in which you find that you have absoulutly nothing in common with?? "The development of Shanghai, AND Celebrity gossip" Thank god for the tabloids...

So its around 8, and I finally recieved news that they found my ID, from the MU person, not FM. Then the whilst sitting and waiting for my ID to get on the return - return flight, which is due to arrive at 11:00, 2 MU managers came down to find me, then brought me to the VIP lounge in the departure hall, I went thru stairs with the security, went thru the security post, put my stuff thru the metal detectors AGAIN, i didn't have my boarding pass, so the MU ppl just goes..she's a passenger, and they let me in. Then we walked to the VIP lounge with coffee tea snacks and internet access.

Morale of the story "Don't be an idiot and lose your freaking traveling docs, and know the right people if you are in China"

Family Guy

Yes..I'm a huge Family Guy fan..I can say that I have watched EVERY episode up till date. I just love the humor that the writers can punch in every 10 seconds..sometimes i have to watch it 2 times to make sure I didn't miss the punchlines. Gosh this is a clip from episode 84 and I didn't get this until my second viewing .. BUT LOLS... You guys know that I went to the Madonna concert not long ago rite.. crap..I was laughing out loud..I totally vote this the funniest line in this episode..

Madonna stands up in anger and disbelief: WHAT????????

Tenderness

Excerpt from Life is Elsewhere, Milan Kundera

Tenderness comes into being at the moment when life propels a man to the threshold of adulthood, and he anxiously realizes all the advantages of childhood he had not appreciated as a child.

Tenderness is the fear instilled by adulthood.

Tenderness is the attempt to creat a tiny artificial space in which it is mutually agreed that each will treat the other like a child.

Tenderness is also fear of the physical consequences of love; it is an attempt to take love out of the world of adults (where it is insidious, coercive, heavy with flesh and responsibility) and to consider a woman as a child.

Dreamsssss

Ok..so someone said I should document my dreams ..coz apparently they're kinda funny...
Anyway..so here goes.. last nite was kinda weird to me as I guess I had approximately 50 dreams last nite..I kinda slept.. had like 2-3 dreams..woke up..then tried to sleep again coz i was tired..toss and turned..then had a few more dreams..woke up..then u get the picture. I think I never got to my deep sleep cycle cos my dreams were too intense.

Dream #1 - Maybe I've been watching Nip tuck too much..and I personally think Joey Yung has overexposure in media. I dreamt that the bad boy Edison posted a picture of Joey on his infamous blog, of which that pic shows that she was sleeping but then she had these lines drawn on face..like those on plastic surgery. Then she goes on TV telling everyone sayting that she swears to God that she had not have any work done on her..Interstingly enough ..the only thought that was going thru my head was.."Damn..that new hair do looks good on her..I should get something like that..."
Yeah Yeah.. when I woke up from that dream I also had the thought that I was a "Inconsiderate souless vain bitch"

Dream#2 - Now this is some scarry shit, let me tell ya. I had this dream that I was sleeping in my Shanghai apartment. And out of nowwhere I feel a man's hand on my chest (not breast..but chest)..needlessly to say I panicked..coz even in a dream..I figured that for that hand to be placed that way..that man must be inside my walls or something. Then I tried to get up..but I couldn't cos the hand was pushing me down hard and I was paralysed..then I tried to push it off but then it grabbed my hand..i struggled and struggled and finally woke up..then found that my own right hand was placed on my chest..and the feeling that I had in the dream was caused by my own right hand..its kinda heavy you kno...so then i went "CHIUUUUUUUUUUUUUU... ho choi jek"..which is.."Phewwwwwwwwwwwwww.....!!!!!!!!!"

Dream#3 - By this time I have already had been tossing and turning had a lottta dreams.. then I dreamt that I woke up..brushed my teeth...put on my contacts...changed clothes... ONly to find out by my alarm..that I had to do it all over again..
Well... sucksss to be me..

Revolution... starts wid me

"Two nations between whom there is no intercourse and no sympathy..... Who are as ignorant of each other habits, thoughts, and feelings as if they were inhabits of different planets"
Sybil - 1845

This quote was written to express the escalating gap between the rich and poor during the industrial revolution. And I must say, it quite represents what I am experiencing now, no.. I'm not saying that I'm rich or something. Working in China is a very difficult task, I often find myself working with staff who seems like they are on an other planet. Its quite hard to break the normal conformation, expectations and mindframe. Its may sound like a simple task.. "To Motivate"... but how can you "Shift a paradigm?" and also..how long would it take? I don't know it is possible or how long it would take...but i'm commited to change this....
